The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court this week.

STRATTON ST MARGARET: Valentin Bondoc, of Carman Close, has been sentenced for criminal damage.

The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to causing £1,015.24 worth of damage to a Nationwide Building Society window in Swindon on September 14, 2023.

He must pay a £20 fine.

SWINDON: Tajinder Gill, of Alder Close, has been sentenced for drink driving.

The 49-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Astra along Thamesdown Drive on December 10, 2023, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in their breath, namely 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

He has been banned from driving for 16 months, fined £400, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs as well as £160 to fund victim services.

FRESHBROOK: Danny Aldred, of Cottington Close, has been sentenced for assaulting an emergency service worker.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to beating a police officer in Swindon on December 10, 2023.

He has been conditionally discharged for a year and must pay £300 in compensation as well as £85 in court costs.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Marcus Miller, of Hook Street, has been sentenced for possessing Class A drugs and an offensive weapon in public.

The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to having amphetamines and two bricks while on Whitworth Road in Swindon on December 10, 2023.

The illegal substance has been forfeited and destroyed. He must take part in up to six rehab activity days and pay a £400 fine as well as £85 in court costs and £160 to fund victim services.

PINEHURST: Afton Hyde, of Cunningham Road, has been sentenced for one offence.

It was proven at Swindon Magistrates Court that the 26-year-old failed to give information to police relating to the identification of the driver of a Vauxhall Astra, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence in Swindon on July 21, 2023.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence and a £660 fine, and must also pay £90 in court costs as well as £264 to fund victim services.

ELDENE: Limeu Haikam-Singh, of Ecklington, has pleaded guilty to two driving offences.

The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Mondial 125 along Eldene Drive on June 19, 2023, without due care and attention, and without insurance.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence and a £340 fine, and must also pay £90 in court costs as well as £2,136 to fund victim services.

HIGHWORTH: Matthew Miller, of Wrag View, has been sentenced for assault by beating.

The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a man in Swindon on December 3, 2023.

He received a community order that requires him to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months, pay £250 in compensation to his victim, and carry out up to 10 rehab activity days as well as pay £85 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.

TOOTHILL: Richard Godden, of Oakhurst Close, has been sentenced for possessing Class A and Class B drugs.

The 40-year-old pleaded guilty to having diamorphine and cannabis on him while in Swindon on May 15, 2023.

The illegal substances have been forfeited and destroyed.

He has been fined £20 and ordered to pay £8 to fund victim services.

HAYDON END: Richard Loveday, of Maida Vale in Swindon, has been sentenced for a driving offence.

The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Renault Megane on County Road on September 23, 2023, without insurance.

He received a 14-day driving ban and a £20 fine, and must also pay £28 to fund victim services.
