A 35-year-old man from Marlborough has been given a suspended prison sentence for a series of indecent texts, Facebook messages, and phone calls.
James Morgan, of Rabley Wood View, pleaded guilty to five counts of the same offence.
The 35-year-old sent indecent or grossly offensive Facebook messages intending to cause distress or anxiety to a woman and a man on November 18, 2023.
He also sent indecent or offensive text messages to a man in Marlborough on September 2 and then sent a voice message to the same victim on September 5, 2023.
The defendant also made telephone calls of an indecent or grossly offensive nature to another man in the area on September 8, 2023.
Morgan was given a suspended sentence because, the court documents note, of “repeated nasty and threatening offences committed during the operational period of a community order”.
He must pay £100 in compensation to each of his four victims, and he received three restraining orders that prevent him from contacting the recipients of his Facebook messages and texts for the next 12 months.
There was no order for the defendant to pay court costs due to his limited means and because paying compensation took priority.
