The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this month.

TOWN CENTRE: Macbeth Fernandes, of Graham Street, has been sentenced for driving offences.

The 34-year-old entered a guilty plea after driving a Perodua Mvyi Sxi along Eastcott Road on March 6, 2023, without insurance or a valid driving licence.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence and must pay a £300 fine as well as £90 in court costs plus £120 to fund victim services.

WALCOT: Amy Stoneham, of Shrewsbury Road, has been sentenced for two offences.

The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to sending a false message by public electronic communication network to cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety to another person in Swindon, and harassing a man by making hoax calls to South West Ambulance Service so that they attended his victim's home address on multiple occasions between October 3 and October 17, 2023.

Stoneham received a community order that requires her to attend up to 10 rehab activity days, pay a £150 fine, and pay £32 in court costs as well as £114 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Carl Brown, of Highworth Road, has been sentenced after being found guilty of sexual assault.

The 61-year-old pleaded not guilty to intentionally touching a man without the victim's consent on two occasions in 2022.

He received a one-year restraining order and a community order that requires him to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work, attend up to 30 rehab activity days, register with the police for five years, and pay £620 in court costs as well as £95 to fund victim services.

WALCOT: Michael Dixon, of Baileys Farm Gardens, has been sentenced for possessing a knife in a public place.

The 50-year-old pleaded guilty to having the blade while in Swindon on January 10, 2024.

He has been jailed for 12 months as this is the second time he has been convicted of this offence.

The weapon has been forfeited and destroyed.

TOOTHILL: Dawn Plumb, of Westminster Road, has been sentenced for two offences.

The 58-year-old pleaded not guilty but was later found guilty of one charge of sexual assault and one charge of racially aggravated common assault.

The defendant intentionally touched a woman without her consent and beat a female victim in Swindon in October 2022.

She received a community order that requires her to have six months of alcohol treatment and 12 days of mental health treatment.

Plumb must also pay £300 in compensation for the assault by beating and £200 in compensation for the sexual assault, as well as £300 in court costs and £114 to fund victim services.

CORSHAM: Jamie Tobin, of Park Lane, has been sentenced for drink driving.

The 21-year-old pleaded not guilty but was later found guilty of driving a Toyota Yaris along the Old Market Roundabout in Bristol on March 12, 2023, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 49 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

He has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £184, and ordered to pay £600 in court costs as well as £74 to fund victim services.
