The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this week.

MOTORWAY: Puja Chadha, of Chester Place in London, has been sentenced for speeding.

The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Porsche Panamera along the M4 in Wiltshire at more than 70mph.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence and must pay a £345 fine as well as £90 in court costs plus £138 to fund victim services.

LIDEN: Ashley Bragg, of Sherringham Court, has been sentenced for drug driving.

The 37-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charge but it was later proved in his absence that he drove a Volkswagen Golf along Drakes Way on October 11, 2021, while having 60 microgrammes of Benzoylecgonine per litre of blood in his system.

He has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £750, and ordered to pay £300 in court costs as well as £85 to fund victim services.

He also pleaded guilty to failing without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Swindon Magistrates' Court on July 10, 2023, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings on March 8, 2023. For this offence, he was fined £100.

PENHILL: James Mercer, of Pewsham Road, has been sentenced for driving offences.

The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Mondeo along Arkwright Road on May 21, 2023, without insurance while using a handheld mobile phone.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence and must pay fines of £500 and £166 as well as £90 in court costs plus £266 to fund victim services.

CHIPPENHAM: Kurt Jackson, of Brook Street in Chippenham, has been sentenced for an offence.

The 33-year-old changed his plea from not guilty to guilty in regards to a charge of failing to give information when required by police in Swindon on June 23, 2023, which related to the identification of the driver of a BMW X3 who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence and an £80 fine, and must also pay £40 in court costs as well as £32 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Allan Brown, of Ellerby Mews in Thornley, has been sentenced for driving without due care and attention.

The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to committing the offence while driving a Peugeot Partner on the A419 in Swindon on May 8, 2023.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence and a £433 fine and must also pay £90 in court costs as well as £173 to fund victim services.

COVINGHAM: Kye Fox, of Trinity Street in Fareham, has been sentenced for using an electric bike without insurance or a valid licence.

The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence, which occurred on St Pauls Drive in Covingham on February 28, 2023.

He has been banned from driving for 16 months, fined £40, and ordered to pay £90 in court costs as well as £16 to fund victim services.

CHIPPENHAM: Jade Lancashire, of Epsom Close, has been sentenced for an offence.

The 25-year-old was convicted of failing to give information to police in Crownhill, Plymouth on August 5, 2022, which related to the identity of a Land Rover Freelander driver who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

She has been banned from driving for six months, fined £150, and ordered to pay £90 in court costs as well as £60 to fund victim services.

CHIPPENHAM: Maihan Toofan, of Oxford Road in Reading, has been sentenced for driving offences.

The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Honda Civic along Bath Road in Chippenham on April 22, 2023, without a valid licence or insurance.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence and a £307 fine and must also pay £90 in court costs as well as £123 to fund victim services.
