One of Swindon’s biggest celebrities may be one of this year’s masked singers, according to one celebrity judge.
Popular ITV show The Masked Singer, which has become a Saturday night favourite amongst viewers, sees celebrities disguised as wacky characters perform for a star-studded panel, including Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, and were joined by guest judge Ellie Goulding.
The judges are tasked with working out the identity of the singers based on clues revealed throughout the show, and one judge believes Swindon’s Billie Piper is behind the Eiffel Tower character.
Mo Gilligan guessed the former Doctor Who star’s name after Eiffel Tower performed Miley Cyrus’s ‘Flowers’.
The comedian believes this song choice was a nod to her role as Rose in the BBC series.
He said: “The clue is in the song right, the song is called ‘Flowers’.
“Now this actress, she was in Doctor Who, she played Rose, she can sing, I think it’s Billie Piper.”
Viewers nearly got the chance to see if Eiffel Tower was indeed one of Swindon’s biggest exports when the character found themselves in the bottom two, and at risk of being unmasked.
But the panel of judges chose to save them and instead unmasked Owl, who was revealed to be TV presenter Lorraine Kelly.
