A Swindon church is hosting a range of concerts which will features thousands of LED candles.

Christ Church in Old Town is currently hosting concerts in which a group of musicians play a variety of music while surrounded by approximately three thousand candles.

The church is hosting the hour-long events which will be taking place over the next few months.

Two concerts will take place per evening and a range of music will be played.

One evening will be a tribute to Coldplay another will be a tribute to Taylor Swift and another will be a medley of Hans Zimmer music. There will also be a Valentine’s Day event which is set to include romantic music.

Simon Stevenette, a Vicar at Christchurch has attended previous concerts hosted at the church and is incredibly excited for the future events.

He said: “A lot of my work is to put Swindon on the map, it (the Candlelight Concerts) is normally in the biggest cities in the world but now it is coming to Swindon.

“They are brilliant, I love it because much of my work is about creating spiritual experiences for people."

The events are organised by events company, Fever but a bar will be run by the Church.
