Off the back of this, he has secured his position on the Great Britain team for the upcoming European Championships in Napoli

He has also been chosen to represent the England team for the Junior Commonwealth Championships in New Zealand this summer.

His mother Sian, says she is unbelievably proud of her son's achievements.

"These outstanding achievements are a testament to his dedication, hard work, and talent," she said.

"Throughout the FIE World Cup circuit this season, Cador consistently demonstrated his fencing finesse, clinching top-eight finishes in Tbilisi, Georgia; Udine, Italy and recently in Manama, Bahrain."

Sian explained that Cador's journey to success has been marked by hours of rigorous training, unwavering commitment, and a passion for fencing that sets him apart.

He began fencing at the local Swindon Fencing Club before moving on to train at Knightsbridge Fencing Club in London.

Cador still likes to help out with coaching the youngsters at Swindon Fencing Club when his own training schedule allows.

After the event in Bahrain, Cador said: "I’ve struggled with access to my usual training this season, so I am particularly happy with how I’ve been performing at the big competitions in this, my first year as a Junior.

"The next goal for me now is to try and ensure my selection for the Junior World Championships happening in April.”

Since speaking to the Adver following that event, Cador did indeed qualify for the Junior World Championships, as he was selected for the U20 World Championships and so will be travelling to Riyadh that month.

Cador is supported by Doing it For Dan, a local charity set up in memory of local lad Daniel Climance which supports young sporting individuals and teams in our local community.
