Wiltshire Police are looking for a man wanted after a number of suspected shoplifting offences in Swindon.

46-year-old Richard Scott is known to frequent the Toothill area of the town and police are now calling on members of the public to help them find him.

The Swindon local has had previous run-ins with Wiltshire Police Force in the past for robbery.

In 2011, Scott stole an iPhone from a teenager who was lost in the town centre, and was jailed for 28 days after repeatedly breaching his curfew.

"We are now appealing to the public to help us locate Richard Scott, 46, who officers would like to speak to in relation to a number of suspected shoplifting offences," said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.

No further information has been given at this time about the suspected shoplifting offences, but police have asked the public to get in touch if they see the wanted man.

"If you have any other relevant information please contact us on 101 quoting the log number 54240001530," the spokesperson added.
