A Swindon driver who knocked a child off his bike then proceeded to swear at the boy before driving off, police said.

The incident occurred at around 8.10pm on Friday, February 2 at the junction of Sudeley Way to Woollaton Close.

Officers say a dark-coloured vehicle clipped a 13-year-old boy who was riding a pedal bike, which caused the child to fall to the ground.

The child sustained bruises and grazes as a result of the incident.

The driver of the vehicle then put his window down and swore at the cyclist before then driving off without providing details or checking on his welfare.

The force is now asking for any potential witness or those with dashcam footage from the time to come forward and aid their investigations.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a fail to stop collision in Swindon.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage which could help identify a registration number of the vehicle involved should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54240013362.

“Alternatively, call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
