A man from Swindon who waited with a baseball bat outside a house, swearing at the occupants, has been given a restraining order.
Alan Hunt left the residents "really frightened" after the incident in April 2023.
Swindon Crown Court heard on Tuesday that Hunt swore and held a baseball bat outside a house in South Marston, threatening the occupants.
Hunt, of Highworth Road in South Marston, pleaded guilty to affray.
The 59-year-old was sentenced to a 12-month Community Order following threatening behaviour as well as a protection from Harassment Order.
In addition, he was given a three-year restraining order, 12 mental health treatment requirement sessions and up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.
Local Crime Investigator Martin Pearce said: "This incident was understandably a really frightening experience for those involved.
“There is never a good reason to behave in this way and I hope people living in Wiltshire feel they can contact police when they need help."
