Police are searching for a man following a spate of car thefts in a Swindon neighbourhood.

Between the hours of 2.50am and 4.25am on Thursday, February 1, a man was seen trying car door handles in the Badbury Park area.

He was also seen making off with items from inside a number of vehicles in the area.

Officers released a photograph of a man who they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are trying to identify the man pictured in connection with a spate of thefts from vehicles in the Badbury Park area.

“We would like to speak to the man pictured in connection with the incidents.

“Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54240013167. Alternatively, call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Wiltshire Police has urged residents to be extra mindful of their vehicle security during this time.

The public has been reminded to ensure that all valuables are removed from inside when vehicles are left overnight.

If not possible, residents should ensure they are locked away out of sight while vehicles should not be left unlocked and cars should be parked in well-lit areas where possible.
