Progress has been made in the ongoing restoration of the Health Hydro.
The historic Milton Road leisure venue can be seen shrouded behind scaffolding and hoardings.
In the last two weeks, the hoardings were added to the pre-existing scaffold - this is to allow the external restoration work to take place, which has been financed by Historic England.
As part of the work, there will be repairs carried out on the roofs, stonework, and windows.
Speaking to the Adver last year, Andrea Christmas, from the Friends of the Health Hydro group, said: “We are delighted that Historic England has awarded £400,000 towards the renovation of the Health Hydro.
“The funds will be used to provide some much-needed improvements to the frontage of this important building, which has served the health and well-being of people in Swindon for 130 years.
“Together, these renovations will be helping to ensure that the Health Hydro can serve the people of Swindon for many more years.”
The Swindon Borough Council-owned leisure centre closed early last year and extensive surveys - including detailed searches for asbestos - have been completed in preparation for the £7m revamp.
Eventually, the plain white hoardings will be replaced with decorative designs.
