Change is afoot at a building that used to be home to a charity furniture store in Swindon's town centre.

The building used to be the home of Gateway Furniture and solely bookends one side of Havelock Square, near Havelock Street.

For eight years, the project welcomed customers inside the two-storey space for a browse and a cuppa, until 2022 when the building was sold to new owners.

And before that, it was a Blacks 'outdoor experts' store.

Since 2022, there has been a wait to find out what the new owners had in store for the building, and after a period of refurbishment, it has been revealed that they have bucked the trend of building flats - instead opting to split the building up into separate retail units.

This means that once full, there could be three new businesses operating out of Havelock Square.

There are posters in the separated compartments of the bottom floor of the building advertising the retail units to let, with an email and contact number.

The Advertiser has tried to contact the building's owners for more information but has been unsuccessful.
