The opening date has been revealed for a new bar and grill in Old Town as work to transform it continues.

The former Woodys Bar in Swindon's Old Town has been completely transformed in recent weeks.

Woodys has been closed since last autumn, with it announced last month that Route 66, an American-themed sports bar and grill coming in to replace it.

But now the building's new look has been completed showing a sleek black exterior with red and blue highlights.

Earlier this month, the establishment's social media pages revealed that it will be opening to Swindon customers on February 24, from 2pm onwards.

A spokesperson for the business has detailed exactly how much work has gone into making this new destination for the town. 

They said: "We had over 30 builders, a whole management team, tech & lightening crew, interior designers, working day and night to bring you the best sports bar and grill in the whole of south west England

"There are over 40 4K TVs including the largest viewing screen you’ll have seen - it’s a beast.

"We’ve laid 10,000m of wiring, worked with incredible businesses to serve you the finest products from our bars and kitchen & a team dedicated to following and prioritising all things sports!

"Countless hours (working 24/7) have gone into our project and we cannot wait."
