A man ran towards a car passenger after he tried to move a bike out of the road.

Police are investigating the "disturbance", near one of the town's major roads on Valentine's Day.

Wiltshire Police said that a woman was driving on Homington Avenue, towards Commonhead, when she was forced to stop because a red bike had been left in the road.

When her son got out of the vehicle to move the bike, a man ran towards him shouting and snatched it from him, officers said.

It happened at around 6.25pm on Wednesday, February 14, with the bike left near houses in the high 80s, near Lordswood.

The suspect has been described as a white male, aged in his early 20s of slim build, around five foot four inches tall.

He was also reported wearing a navy jacket, tracksuit bottoms and a dark coloured baseball cap.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police wrote: “If you saw the incident, or have anything suspicious on your doorbell footage, dashcam or CCTV, please contact us on 101 quoting reference number 54240018320.”
