Two new yellow weather warnings have been issued for Wiltshire with wind and rain forecast to batter the county again.

Heavy rain fell in Swindon and Wiltshire during the weekend of Saturday, February 17, and then again during the early hours of Wednesday, February 21.

Now a fresh yellow weather warning for rain has been issued for the county, from 5am until 5pm on Thursday, February 22.

This warning covers all of Swindon and Wiltshire and the Met Office has warned that heavy rain may lead to flooding and disruption in some areas during this period.

Residents have been advised that some roads may be flooded because of the weather, disrupting travel and public transport.

24 flood alerts and one flood warning have already been issued by the government following heavy rainfall around the county.

The Met Office added that there is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to homes and businesses.

A second yellow weather warning will also be in place in parts of the south of the county, including Salisbury, Tidworth, and sections of the busy A303.

Strong winds are expected to bring a small chance of disruption to travel and services in this area.
