Homes and businesses in a Wiltshire town have been hit by a power cut as heavy rain and winds battered the county once again.
Around 21 homes in Marlborough have been hit by an outage that was first reported at 8.38am.Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks expects it to be resolved by 11.40am.
The areas affected are in the west of the town and run along Bath Road, Hyde Lane and parts of the High Street around Marlborough College.
A spokesperson for SSEN wrote: “The cause of this power cut is a fault on our underground network. This is the most common type of fault we see and our teams are very experienced in dealing with these issues.”
This power cut comes as there is a yellow weather warning currently in place for Swindon and Wiltshire from 5am until 6pm today.
Heavy rain has already fallen and is only expected to continue throughout the day. This is the second consecutive day of bad weather with areas of the county experiencing flooding.
