Two horses caused traffic chaos after escaping and wandering the streets of a town.

Horses, Foxx and Mango delayed traffic in Highworth on Thursday, February 22.

Wiltshire Police officers eventually apprehended the pair, collared them and took them to the safety of Highworth Bowls Club.

The Highworth Police Facebook account posted about the incident the same day and released images of the horses as well as an image of officer petting one of the horses.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Masked offender and accomplice caught after causing traffic chaos in Highworth.

“Foxx and Mango have been collared after escaping earlier today and going on the run. Thankfully they were apprehended and locked behind bars at the Bowls Club.

“Our thanks to all the motorists who drove safely so no people or animals were hurt on the roads as they took a quick tour of the town.”
