Two popular bakeries in the Cotswolds have been taken over by a talented culinary duo.

Swiss restaurant owner Alexander Clavel and his partner chef Narda Franco are the new custodians of Bakery on the Water in Bourton and Bakery on the Hill in Burford.

The dynamic duo have spent the last few months infusing these beloved establishments with a fresh perspective and delicious culinary creations.

Visitors can now enjoy an expanded menu which encompasses artisanal bread, pastries, cakes, and savoury delights crafted with passion and precision by Chef Narda and her team.

They are keen to use local suppliers and will be sourcing bacon from Jesse Smith, sausages from local Old Farm Dorn, milled flour from Shipston-on-Stour, honey from 10 miles from each shop, locally roasted coffee from Rave, river trout fished, smoked and hand-sliced in Bibury.

The new menu features both light and hearty breakfast favourites, gourmet paninis and fresh salads topped with Coronation chicken, hummus and olives, and much more.

Both bakeries have undergone a transformation with a redesigned space, incorporating light and fresh colours to create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for guests and they will both be open seven days a week.

Bakery on the Water now features a dedicated co-working room where visitors can enjoy a comfortable space with free Wi-Fi.

The new owners said: "We are thrilled  to be part of the Bakery on the Water and Bakery on the Hill family.

"Our goal is to create an  exceptional casual culinary experience that pays homage to the heritage of these establishments while introducing exciting innovations.

"We are excited to bring our passion for quality cuisine to Bourton on the Water and Burford.

"We hope that our commitment to excellence and creativity will be evident in every bite."
