The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates' Court  this week.

RODBOURNE: Tudor Cretu, of Noble Corner in Hounslow, has been sentenced for shoplifting from the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet The 41-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to stealing clothes worth £2,223 from Ralph Lauren on March 20, 2024.

He has been jailed for 17 weeks due to the seriousness of the offence and because, court documents note, the defendant has a flagrant disregard for people and their property.

Cretu must also pay £154 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: A woman has been sentenced for causing unnecessary suffering or injury to a child under the age of 16.

The defendant, who we are not identifying here to protect the identity of her young victim, indicated a plea of guilty to willfully assaulting, ill-treating, neglecting, abandoning, or exposing a child in her care on April 1, 2023, in a manner likely to cause him unnecessary suffering or injury to health.

She must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, complete up to 20 rehabilitation activity days, and pauy £85 in court costs as well as £114 to fund victim services.

STRATTON ST MARGARET: Kirk Ayres, of Sandgate, has been sentenced for drug driving.

The 42-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit along Kingshill Road on August 19, 2023, while having 32 micrograms of cocaine per litre of blood in his system.

He has been banned from driving for 14 months, fined £120, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Mehmet Erpak, of Daisy Brook, has been sentenced for possession of Class A and Class B drugs.

The 18-year-old had some cannabis and 0.3 grams of cocaine on him while in Swindon on March 3, 2024.

The illegal substances have been forfeited and destroyed. He has been fined £200 altogether and ordered to also pay £85 in court costs as well as £80 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Ruben Costa, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced for harassment without violence.

The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of a woman between March 13 and 17, 2024, which amounted to the harassment in that he contacted her via telephone and text message and attended her address.

He has been fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs as well as £88 to fund victim services.

TADPOLE GARDEN VILLAGE: Samuel Romain, of Millais Close, has been sentenced for assault by beating and criminal damage.

The 35-year-old pleaded not guilty but was later found guilty of hitting a woman in Swindon on May 14, 2023, and admitted to damaging door mechanisms and various items belonging to his victim on the same date.

He must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work, attend up to 20 rehabilitation activity days, and pay £600 in court costs as well as £114 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Steven Isaacs, of Calcutt, has been sentenced for driving without reasonable consideration to other users.

CALNE: Jamie O'Brien, of Compton Bassett, has been sentenced for driving offences.

The 36-year-old changed his pleas to guilty regarding the wilful obstruction of a constable in the execution of his duty in Calne and driving a Honda CRV along Harrier Road without insurance on June 20, 2023.

He has been conditionally discharged for 12 months, fined £500, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs as well as £160 to fund victim services.
