The new Moredon Sporting Hub is nearing completion.
Over the coming weeks, the finishing touches will be made to the new pavilion and the multi-sport facility will be handed over to Central Swindon North Parish Council for fit-out.
Work will also be completed on the cycle track which is currently being surfaced.
The £6.3 million scheme is on track to be completed by its spring deadline and will also be on budget.
A grand opening will take place early in the summer to take advantage of the better weather.
Built by the council and funded by the Premier League, The FA, the Football Foundation, Sport England, British Cycling and Central North Swindon Parish Council, the hub will also offer sport leisure for all ages and will be aimed at those new to the sports available at the site.
Councillor Jim Grant, cabinet member for communities and joint working, said: “I’m very pleased to see that this amazing project is almost complete.
“It’s on track and on budget which is a great achievement for the project team and I can’t wait to see the facility fully open.
“While construction is set to finish in the coming weeks, the parish will still have to fit out the pavilion and then it will all systems go for planning the big launch early in the summer.”
