A NEW immersive role-playing games shop has been launched.

The Tabletop Tavern, which has been set up on the top floor of the Live Escape Rooms in Cross Keys, had its launch event on April 12.

It is aimed at being a safe space for people who enjoy role-playing adventures and games such as Warhammer and Dungeons and Dragons, in a medieval tavern setting.

It has been set up by partners Brad Bloomfield, 30, and Marine Chambers 25.

The sold-out launch event also featured other Salisbury businesses including My Comic Heroes, the White Witch of Wiltshire, New Realties Gaming, and Squidrolls Dice.

There were free gift bags, a complimentary glass of prosecco, and even tarot readings available, with wine, ales and soft drinks sold at the bar, and food provided by Maul's Wine and Cheese bar.

Brad told the Journal: "We didn't know anyone in Salisbury doing this, we didn't have a group we were a part of, so we thought we would set up our own one.

"We had a soft launch about two months ago before the big night, and we wanted to create a safe space for people who enjoy gaming and cosplay and be with like-minded people".

There were around 25 people there on the night, and the games can range from table-top games that take an hour, or immersive experiences that can last for hours and hours.

Brad said: "Everyone had a great time. It went so well, it was such an amazing feeling to see everyone laughing and smiling and having such a good time."
