A HOME in Wotton has been hit with a fresh closure order following anti-social behaviour.

The property in Bearlands will be closed for a further period of three months.

The house was previously closed by magistrates in February.

During this time only tenants and relevant authorities are allowed to enter the property.

The order was officially granted to Gloucestershire Police during a hearing at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Friday, April 26.

Penalties for breaching the court order include a fine or a period of imprisonment.

According to section 80 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, a Magistrates' Court can make a closure order only if it is satisfied that:

  • a person has engaged, or is likely to engage, in disorder, antisocial or criminal behaviour on the premises
  • the use of the premises is, or is likely to be, associated with disorder or nuisance to members of the public
  • the order is necessary to prevent the occurrence, or reoccurrence, of the disorder, nuisance or antisocial/criminal behaviour
