The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates' Court this month.

TOWN CENTRE: Simon Wellbeloved, of Commercial Road, has been sentenced for two offences.

The 53-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman and damaging The Hub’s pool table in Swindon on December 4, 2023.

He received a community order that requires him to carry out 12 sessions of mental health treatment within nine months, carry out up to 15 rehabilitation activity days, and pay a fine of £307 as well as £85 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.

SHAW: Lewis Gash, of Corral Close, has been sentenced for breaching a restraining order after acquittal.

The 58-year-old pleaded not guilty but was later found guilty of harassment after shouting out through a bedroom window in Swindon on January 24, 2023, which he was prohibited from doing by a restraining order imposed by Swindon Magistrates Court on December 12, 2022.

He must pay a £200 fine as well as £200 in court costs and £80 to fund victim services.

MOREDON: Peter Drinkwater, of Cheddar Road, has been sentenced for three driving offences.

The 57-year-old caused another person to drive a Volkswagen Polo along Great Western Way without insurance or a valid licence on July 13, 2023, when the vehicle had its front end missing which left the engine exposed.

He drove a Ford Galaxy along the same road on the same date without a licence or insurance.

The defendant received a 12-month driving ban and must pay fines totalling £320 as well as £90 in court costs plus £128 to fund victim services.

HAYDON WICK: Kelvin Douglas, of Greenwood Place, has ben sentenced for two offences.

The 45-year-old pleaded guilty to stealing bottles of alcohol worth £65 from the Redhouse Tesco supermarket and assaulting a man in Swindon on April 9, 2024.

He received a community order that requires him to carry out six months of alcohol treatment and up to 20 rehabilitation activity days as well as pay £50 in compensation plus £85 in court costs and £114 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Tom McCann, of Lowfield Road in Tetbury, has been sentenced for racially-aggravated intentional harassment to cause alarm or distress.

The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour towards a man in Swindon on September 30, 2023.

He must pay £100 in compensation as well as a fine of £140 plus £85 in court costs and £56 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Michael Salter, of Wyndhams Place in Tisbury, has been sentenced for an offence.

The 32-year-old pleaded not guilty but was later found guilty of one charge of failing to provide a breath sample to police in Swindon when required as part of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence after being suspected of having driven a vehicle on April 1, 2023.

He has been banned from driving for 36 months, fined £120, and ordered to pay £620 in court costs.

CALNE: Linda Patrick, of Lickhill Road, has been sentenced for two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker.

The 44-year-old indicated pleas of guilty to hitting two male police officers in Calne on January 26, 2024.

She must pay £50 in compensation to each victim as well as an £80 fine and £85 in court costs plus £32 to fund victim services.
