A date has been set for the trial of a Swindon woman who is charged with attacking a 17-year-old boy with a glass

Drew Stanton-Foreman, 20, of Redhouse Way, was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent during an incident on June 3, last year.

Stanton-Foreman is alleged to have been at a house party, where at around midnight she started shouting to a fellow party-goer to leave.

A short time after this, she is said to have smashed a champagne glass and stabbed the 17-year-old in the neck with the remaining sharp stem.

The victim, who claimed that it was an unprovoked attack, was taken to hospital for treatment of a puncture wound, but this injury was not thought to be life-threatening.

The case was first heard in Swindon Magistrates' Court on June 5, but was sent to Swindon Crown Court because of the severity of the charges which could carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Stanton-Foreman has since pleaded not guilty during hearing in September last year, and in April this year, the case had been adjourned until May 7 for a psychiatric report to be repaired.

But during the fixed hearing on Tuesday, it was confirmed that this was still to take place.

Judge Jason Townsend set a trial date for December 18. It is expected to last three days.

Stanton-Foreman remains on conditional bail.
