A re-opening date for Coate Water's revamped golf courses has been revealed.

The 18-hole pitch and putt and 18-hole mini golf areas in the popular park have been closed since the pandemic but players will soon be able to pop over there again.

Work has begun to reopen the space, including mowing and preparing the greens, repairing the irrigation systems, and checking the equipment is available and ready to be used.

The courses will be open again this July, just in time for the school summer holidays.

Councillor Marina Strinkovsky, Swindon Borough Council’s cabinet member for planning and placemaking, said “Coate Water is one of Swindon’s many beloved country parks, but we know people want to see more from it.

“That’s why, along with the new splash park, I was eager to reopen the golf offering at the park in time for the school holidays.

“It’s been closed for too long so to get it open in time for the summer will be a great achievement and I can’t wait to see families enjoying it in the nice weather.

“There’s still more we want to do at Coate Water to help build a better and greener Swindon.

"Be sure to keep an eye out for more news in the future.”
