The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates' Court this month.

KINGSHILL: Sean Smith, of Grosvenor Road, has been sentenced for fraud by false representation.

The 29-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to making numerous unauthorised transactions using card details without the consent of the owner of the card, intending to make a gain of £1,500, for himself between October 30, 2021, and September 22, 2022.

WALCOT: Andressa Ferreira, of Ashwell Close, has been sentenced for two offences.

The 36-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to having an article, namely a fraudulent driving license, for use in the course of or in connection with a fraud in Swindon on January 26, 2024.

She also admitted to driving a Vauxhall Vivaro along Broad Street without a valid licence on the same day.

She received three penalty points on her driving licence and must pay fines totalling £648 as well as £85 in court costs, and £187 to fund victim services.

The defendant received a community order that requires him to carry out 300 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and pay £833.75 in compensation.

BROOME MANOR: Bradley Warren, of Haig Close, has been sentenced for failing to give information about the driver of a vehicle when required.

The 31-year-old pleaded not guilty but was later found guilty of failing to tell police about the driver of a BMW 328i who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence on November 9, 2023.

He has been disqualified from driving for six months, fined £180, and ordered to pay £250 towards court costs.

RAILWAY VILLAGE: David Walch, of Reading Street, has been sentenced for drug driving.

The 53-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Astra van along Junction 15 of the M4 on September 19, 2023, with 396 micrograms of the cocaine byproduct Benzoylecgonine and 5.0 micrograms of cannabis byproduct Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood in his system.

He has been banned from driving for three years, fined £200, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £80 to fund victim services.

WESTLEA: Rebecca Crowley, of Frost Close, has been sentenced for assault by beating of an emergency worker.

The 34-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to hitting a male hospital security guard in Swindon on February 12, 2024.

She must pay £50 in compensation to her victim.

SWINDON: A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be identified because he is under the age of 18, has been sentenced for speeding.

The defendant pleaded guilty to driving a Rieju MRT 2000 on Great Western Way faster than the 30mph speed limit in force on that section of the road on October 28, 2023.

He received a £60 fine and three penalty points on his driving licence, and must also pay £26 to fund victim services.

TROWBRIDGE: Philip Robertson, of Norris Road in Hilperton, has been sentenced for a driving offence.

The 30-year-old pleaded not guilty but was later found guilty of using a handheld mobile phone while behind the wheel of a Nissan Micra on the A363 on April 19, 2024.

He received six penalty points on his driving licence and must pay a fine of £136 as well as £250 in court costs plus £55 to fund victim services.
