Investigations are ongoing at the scene of a serious crash in Swindon after a pedestrian was “critically injured.”
Police confirmed they had closed Queens Drive, from the junction with Whitbourne Avenue towards Drakes Way, at around 6am on Saturday, May 25.
During the morning a pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was hit by a car and has since been rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
Officers have cordoned off part of the northbound carriageway and a crossing, near New College Swindon, and investigations are ongoing at the scene.

At the time of writing around four police vehicles remained at the cordon and one vehicle was being examined just north of the crossing.
It is expected that the road will remain closed until mid-afternoon while officers carry out their work.
Drivers have been warned to expect delays and seek alternative routes in the meantime.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Please be aware that Queens Drive in Swindon is currently closed following a serious road traffic collision.
“A pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was struck by a car in the early hours and has been transferred to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
“Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area.”
