Two “large knives” have been seized after suspects allegedly fled the scene of a moped crash on a busy Swindon road.
Shortly after 11pm on Sunday, June 9, officers say they witnessed a moped crash at a roundabout on Akers Way.
The collision involved a rider and pillion passenger, who both reportedly ran off into a wooded area after spotting police.
One suspect is said to have run along Akers Way while the other is believed to have fled on Cheney Manor Road towards Pinehurst.
Police pursued the suspects and one officer was allegedly assaulted before the individuals escaped.
Two large knives were also reportedly discovered in the area and seized by police.
Anyone who witnessed the incident has been urged to come forward.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses following an incident on Akers Way, Swindon, on Sunday evening.
