Drivers in Swindon have been warned that diversions will be in place next week as two roads will be closed for improvement work.
As part of Swindon Borough Council’s annual major roads maintenance programme, Tadpole Lane will be closed for four nights from Tuesday, June 25 between the Oakhurst Way roundabout and the Swindon and Cricklade Railway.
The road will be closed from 6pm and diversions will be in place to allow the council’s contractors to replace the deteriorating road surface and increase the lifespan of the carriageway.
Access will be maintained for local residents and emergency services.
Once this work has been completed, the contractors will move onto Thamesdown Drive so that similar repairs can be made to the north-eastbound carriageway between the Taw Hill and Redhouse Way junctions.
While the road is closed, highway workers will repaint road markings and clear gullies and drains, before reopening Thamesdown Drive to all traffic at 6am.
