Wiltshire Police has finally caught a driver who has been flying under the radar without a valid UK licence for a decade.
Officers from Wiltshire Police's Road Policing Unit stopped a red Mercedes vehicle outside The Range in Swindon having received information that the driver didn't have a licence.
But when officers went to speak to the driver, they discovered that they had been driving without a valid licence for a lot longer than police realised.
The driver, who has not been named publicly, was able to produce a foreign driving licence but has failed to transfer it to a UK licence after the initial mandatory 12 months.
"They've only been in the UK since 2013," said a spokesperson for the Road Policing Unit.
"The RPU in Swindon received information that the driver of this vehicle didn’t have a licence - partially true."
The Mercedes driver has now been reported, and the vehicle was seized by police.
