Reports out recently have exposed that MP’s get tax free hand outs for various expenses without having to supply receipts. They also receive payments for a host of items to furnish second homes paid for by us, the taxpayers. Items include telly’s, furniture and new kitchens. Below is an extract from the BBC report on this subject.

'John Lewis list'
Earlier this month it emerged that MPs were allowed to claim expenses of up to £10,000 for a new kitchen, £2,000 for furniture and £750 for a TV or stereo for their second homes.
And other claims allowable include £6,335 for a new bathroom, £299.99 for air conditioning units, £300 per rug, £50 for a shredder and £1,000 for a bed.
The figures are in the so-called "John Lewis list" used by Commons officials to list maximum amounts for items.
The existence of the list - based on prices at the John Lewis store "because it was highly rated by Which magazine" - was revealed during the tribunal.

What is worse, the government/speaker is trying to block the release of individual MPs claims for our perusal, or the full list of available items and amounts applicable.
This is our money, if you cant afford to buy stuff for your property because of rising prices and low wage increases, fear not, some people can, the people you voted in to power, and you and me are paying.

This comes out after the revelation that MPs expenses require no receipts, they just ask and so long as any individual claim is below £250…no probs…there’s the cash. They can also claim up to £400 a month for food to fill their fat lying faces, again, no receipts required. Still our money.

I know how you can tell when an MP is lying, his lips are moving. But how do you tell when an MP is fleecing you, easy, he’s breathing. The hypocrisy is unbelievable.

Apparently something is getting done about this, but the fact is they have been getting away with it until it came into the pubic eye. Its only shame that has or will effect any change.

I’m quite annoyed about this.
