School Governor Convicted Of Drink Driving

Should fellow governors have accepted this man's resignation, when it was offered? What do you think? Now this is splashed all over the papers, it is inevitable that most students at the school will find out that this man has been convicted of drink driving. It's definitely not a good example to be setting children of such an impressionable age.

It seems to me that young people need and deserve better role models. Yes, they need to realise we are all human and make mistakes, but at the same time they need a good example setting. Anorexic young supermodels, rappers who live the gangster life style, complete with guns, Pete Doherty the heroin addict, mps who cheat on their seriously ill spouses, school governors who drink drive, fathers who push their youngsters in pushchairs, in one hand a cigarette, the other hand a can of stella? Come on what kind of example is this?

I do my best for my kids, I'm definitely not perfect, but I can not close their eyes from all that is happening around them. Kids are cleverer than we think; their innocent eyes see so much. The nature v nurture battle is being fought in this house, just as it is in so many houses up and down the country. Where parents do care, where parents try their best to bring their kids up properly, but can not protect them from the society in which we live.
