FOUR Swindon VIPs have volunteered to be guinea pigs for a special study on complementary therapies.

South Swindon MP Anne Snelgrove, Swindon Council chief executive Gavin Jones, Swindon Mayor Steve Wakefield and Swindon 105.5 station manager Shirley Ludford will all undergo hypnotherapy, reiki, aromotherapy and reflexology as part of a study by Swindon 105.5’s Health Matters programme.

It comes after Health Matters co-presenters Ann-Marie Stanford and Christina Strang invited four complementary therapists to take part in the study.

Both the therapists and their special clients will be asked to give general feedback on progress during the experiment period during Health Matters between 1pm and 2pm.

Ann-Marie said: “One of our earlier guests, Boo Armstrong of Get Well UK, was contracted by the Northern Ireland government to carry out a pilot study looking at the effectiveness of complementary medicine, the results of which are still to be published.

“The study is what prompted us to set up the Health Matters challenge with the help of the therapists and our VIPs we look forward to some interesting results.”

The Health Matters challenge starts on Monday.
