TEMPERATURES dropped to below minus three degrees as the cold snap hit Swindon.
Between three to five cms of snow fell overnight leaving many roads impassable.
The Met Office says temperatures will rise to an average of three degrees today with long clear spells.
By tonight it is expected to fall to minus two degrees.
