POLICE are reporting that traffic trying to ascend the incline towards the Turnpike junction in the vicinity of the Motorola Factory is becoming hazardous.
They are experiencing a great deal of problems gaining traction. It is recommended this area is avoided where possible.
Around Swindon, traffic trying to exit the A419 and the A361 are backing up onto the southbound A419.
Other traffic is having to travel onto the areas of the road which still have deep snow to avoid the back of the traffic queue.
It is also reported that on the A419 northbound at its juction with the A420, a heavy goods vehicle has broken down. Drivers to be aware of this when exitting the A419.
Elsewhere the A4 between Chippenham and Calne is not passable and is now blocked by several cars that are stuck in the snow. Police advise you to find an alternative routes.
