VOLUNTEERS are needed to give the homeless in Swindon somewhere safe and warm to stay at Christmas.
The Christmas Care project provides shelter and food for the homeless from Christmas Eve to December 28 in the Queens Drive Methodist Church.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering is invited to a meeting on Thursday in Queens Drive Methodist Church Hall at 8pm.
Another volunteers’ meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 18 in the church hall.
Christmas Care chairman Patsy Moloney said: “We could not help the homeless without volunteers – they are fantastic and I have not met nicer people.”
Last year about 150 volunteers helped and 68 turkey dinners were served on Christmas day.
For information telephone Patsy after 6pm on 01793 642368 or visit www.christmascare.co.uk.
