A West Swindon infant school has been judged good by Government education inspectors.
Ofsted said pupils at Oliver Tomkins Infant School, in Beaumaris Drive, are strongest at maths, but average in writing.
The report said: “Children make a good start to their education in the nursery and reception classes and make good progress in their learning, but staff have identified that children are less successful in developing early writing skills than in other areas.”
The inspectors praised head Rhian Cockwell for “drive and ambition for every child.”
The school has been asked to make sure average ability pupils do as well as other youngsters and develop opportunities to extend writing and reading skills in other subjects.
