SWINDON author Rosa Matheson will be holding a talk on women and the Great Western Railway later this month.

Mrs Matheson is the author of several books about the GWR and the Swindon Works and her latest talk will describe the roles of women in a mainly male environment and will aim to shed light on Swindon’s main employer until recent times.

The talk is being hosted by the Chiseldon Local History Group.

Mrs Matheson will be speaking at the Holy Cross church hall, Ridgeway, on March 17 at 7.30pm.
