THE Advertiser's Loud And Proud campaign took to the County Ground on Saturday to get behind Swindon Town.

The boys beat Doncaster 2-1, their third home win in a row, to lift themselves a place up the table.

And, helped by the Loud And Proud campaign, which aims to boost support for the team, the atmosphere at the County Ground is also on the rise.

Nigel Bennett, a spokesman for the Swindon Town Supporters' Club, said: "The result was another good fillip for both the fans and the club.

"This was reflected on the terraces where the mood is now much more positive than it was earlier in the season.

"I think people are suddenly realising things are a little bit better than they were.

"The Loud And Proud campaign kicked it off and the results have picked up."

With the team doing their bit on the field Mr Bennett urged any stay away fans to come back to the club.

"There's much more of a feel-good factor than there was," he said.

"Recent results have given fans real hope that we may be able to avoid the dreaded drop.

"We'd just like a few more people inside the ground."

On Saturday the Advertiser's mascot Alfie the Alligator was on hand to add to the fun by meeting fans and handing out special car stickers that are aimed at boosting support for the planned redevelopment of the County Ground.
