PROPERTY tycoon Harry Hyams, who lost millions in Britain's biggest burglary has said he is not specially bothered about the money.

Antiques worth up to £20m were stolen in a raid on the reclusive magnate's 17th century mansion in Ramsbury, near Marlborough, on Wednesday night.

According to reports, Mr Hyams, who made his money from property in Central London including the Centre Point building, told detectives: "It's not the financial loss that upsets me.

"What hurts most is the sentimental impact.

"I've spent 50 years building this collection and now it's devastated."

Detectives believe the robbers were professional burglars who methodically searched the house from top to bottom.

They did not ransack the home concentrating on antiques rather than Mr Hyams' collections of paintings, which are believed to include Rembrandts and Rubens.

Police believe the burglars will try and take the items abroad and sell them on the international black market.
