CAN you help this loving couple celebrate their ruby wedding anniversary by finding the man who helped them tie the knot when they eloped 40 years ago?
Jeanette and Billy Petrie, of Walcot, ran away to Scotland to marry in 1966 when they were 17 after their parents told them their love couldn't last.
At the time you could marry north of the border without parental permission at 16 whereas in England you had to wait until 21.
And Billy's workmate Geoff Hutton, who was married to Barbara, was the man who helped them make it possible.
"Geoff gave us a map of Scotland, booked us into a bed and breakfast, bought us flowers and organised a photographer on the day. We wouldn't have known what to do if it hadn't been for Geoff," said Jeanette, now a grandmother.
The Petries haven't seen Geoff since July 2, 1966 the day after their marriage. All they know is that he originally came from Kent. He worked with Billy for a short time at the London Demolition Works at British Rail, Swindon.
"It would the icing on the cake if Geoff could be with us at our ruby wedding in July when we are renewing our vows," said Jeanette. If you can reunite them call the newsdesk on 01793 501802.
