RECORD producer Hilary Budgen described a teenage singer he is accused of molesting as having "a body like Jordan" when he met her as a 12-year-old.

The 63-year-old, pictured, who denies touching her improperly, told police the schoolgirl's physique reminded him of the glamour model when he first saw her.

He also admitted he lied to police about having indecent pictures of the youngster, taken when she was 14, which were found on his computer.

Giving evidence on the third day of his trial at Swindon Crown Court Budgen, of Barrington Close, Liden, who operates under the name Rob Gem, said he met the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, when she was performing at a talent show.

The grandfather told police she was wearing a black see-through blouse adding "You must understand; she was a 12-year-old girl with a body like Jordan."

He said that following that meeting in April 2003 he agreed to record some material with her at the studio he had at his home in Liden.

Over the following 20 months they met on numerous occasions recording material and the teenager also performed on stage.

During that time he said that he took hundreds of photographs of her, saying he hoped to get a couple of images which could be used for promotional purposes.

He admitted that on a weekend in January last year when the girl was staying at his home he took some pictures up her skirt, but denied indecently touching her.

Budgen insisted that he only took the shots because she had badgered him to do it. "She kept on about this," he said. "I took the pictures. I just thought it was a waste of time because you could not use them.

"I didn't want to do it. With hindsight I shouldn't have done it, it was her persistence. She went on and on."

Asked by Sue Evans, defending, "Did you touch her physically?" he replied "No."

Earlier the girl told the court he put his hand into her underwear as he took the pictures.

He also insisted pictures on his computers with the girl's head on naked bodies had not been created by him.

He said he was frequently sent CDs containing indecent images which had doctored pictures of his artists lifted from his website.

Budgen denies two counts of sexual activity with a child and inciting a child to commit a sex act. He also denies three counts of making indecent pseudo photographs of a child. He has admitted three counts of making indecent images.
