HALCROW, the Swindon engineering consultant, has acquired transportation planners TSi.

TSi (TranSys International Consultants Limited) specialises in applying the latest technology to the improvement of transportation systems.

Halcrow and TSi have been partners in North America for several years, during which time the team has become established as one of the leading traffic and revenue advisers within public/private partnership .

TSi's CEO, Jim Chim said: "We're excited to be joining forces with Halcrow, an organisation that shares our values and has an impressive portfolio of projects. This means great opportunities for our team to plan and improve transportation systems around the world."

TSi has worked on a number of projects including the Richmond Airport Vancouver Rapid Transit, Golden Ears Bridge, Okanagan Lake Bridge and Kicking Horse Canyon.

Group board director Neil Holt said: "The acquisition is part of Halcrow's ongoing development in the North American market and significantly strengthens our capabilities. It also broadens Halcrow's skill base within the region and provides a springboard for the growth of our transport planning and consultancy teams."
