THE PET detectives are seeking the help of the public as they search for missing dog Benjie.

Animal Search UK’s professional search and rescue team were in Stratton at the weekend to search for the dog that went missing a week and a half ago.

The team are urging members of the public to call them straight away if they see the dog.

Tom Watkins said: “We are going to be in the area all day to do a thorough search of the area and we want members of the public to call us as soon as they sight the dog.

“We don’t want people to try and approach the dog but stay in the area where they see him.”

There have been a number of sightings since the Adver printed the story last Monday but none have resulted in the finding Benjie, a terrier cross.

Owner Joanne Henderson said: “We have had a number of calls about possible sightings but every time my husband and I get there we have no luck.

“I am worried sick and we are trying everything to find him.”

Animal Search UK and the family wanted to thank Travelodge UK who have agreed to put the team up for free to maximise the search time. If you see the dog call Tom Watkins on 0788 4316943.
