FIRE crews were called to two road traffic accidents on Saturday.

The first took place shortly before midday on the M4 near Swindon, between junctions 15 and 14 eastbound when a car hit some debris on the carriageway.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The Highways Agency asked if we could send a crew to make the scene safe so a crew from Stratton attended and also dealt with fuel spillage on the carriageway.”

The second accident took place on the A419 near Blunsdon at around 4pm and involved three vehicles. Nobody was trapped in the collision but two crews from Stratton attended and ensured the scene was safe.
