A MOTORCYCLIST has been rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after colliding with a stationary truck.
The 20-year-old man was travelling down Eldene Drive towards Dorcan Way at 10.13pm on Monday when he collided with a white Mercedes break-down truck, which was parked on the carriageway.
The rider was treated at the scene and taken to Great Western Hospital before being transferred to John Radcliffe Hospital, in Oxford, where he was said to be in a critical condition.
The road was closed for more than five hours for a full police investigation to be carried out.
Wiltshire Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the man on the black Suzuki motorcyle SV660 SK2 around the time of the incident to contact PC 1487 Fair on 0845 408 7000.
