Abbey D had a storming victory against Raychem E on Saturday. Abbey were up 15 nil within the first quarter and then only conceded 3 goals in the second quarter. Abbey's defence was tight with strong and confident performances from Kayleigh Harper and Lissa Comer, which meant Raychem had few opportunitites to score. The score at half time 28 to 3. Vicky Rees and Billi Skinner placed some brilliant shots, made possible by the hard work put in by the other ladies to ensure that they received the ball. There were a few changes made at half time when Tracey Abasalom came on as sub for Billi Skinner and the goals kept on coming! Abbey's dominance in defence meant the ball could be played smoothly to Jo Harvey and Susan Maggs at WD. Passing and interplay between Becky Brennan at C and Sian Waite at WA meant the ladies at the attacking end had many opportunities to score. Within the third quarter Abbey scored another 8 goals and by full time had scored a total of 49 goals to Raychems 9.

The score line shows how much the hard work and commitment in training is paying off. Player of the match once again went to Becky Brennan, which highlights her impressive recent form.
