A DEDICATED group of volunteers from North Swindon have been awarded for their fundraising efforts.
The North Swindon Fundraising Group for the PDSA won the title of ‘Fundraising Team of the Year’ in the veterinary charity’s annual Volunteer Awards having raised £3,200 for the charity.
The team of five – Ali Bald, 42, Hilary Harfield, 26, Anne Lambert, 33, Brent Boxley, 34 and Mark Totton, 36, work tirelessly organising fundraising dog shows, walks and collections in the local area, which raise funds for sick and injured pets.
They were presented with their trophy by PDSA’s Director of Marketing John Cole at a special ceremony at the Hilton Hotel.
Group leader Brent Boxley said: “We’re absolutely delighted and very surprised to have won this award. We’re all extremely passionate about pets and are honoured to be helping to raise vital funds for such a worthy cause. It’s hard work, but when an event is well attended and makes lots of money for the charity, it’s all worthwhile.”
The group are holding a toy and book store in Haydon Wick village hall on March 5 between 10am and 2pm.
