THIS year’s charity ball is taking place on May 14 at the Marriott Hotel.
The popular charity ball continues to support projects in Swindon and through the generosity of those who have attended over the years, has helped to raise nearly £600,000 for good causes.
Just some of the charities to benefit so far include Swindon Therapy Centre For Multiple Sclerosis, NSPCC North Swindon Family Centre, Swindon 10-18 Projects, DASH and the Prospect Hospice.
This year’s theme for the event is burlesque.
Tim Hanley, the chairman of the Swindon Rotary Club, which organises the event, said: “We are hoping to raise between £20,000 and £25,000 this year but we have yet to decide on which charities will benefit.
“We will have some burlesque dancers throughout the night and we have some very nice auction prizes coming in already.”
Tickets for the event are £75, which includes a five-course dinner.
